Romans 10:17 & Isaiah 53:4

So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself. The Thought for this blog begins with Romans 10:17. With Isaiah 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy.

What is the connection between these two verses? Romans provide instructions for strengthening our faith. Isaiah shows us the act of faith by love. We live within a world that if we are not careful will diminish our faith and marginalize the importance of love.

The value of our opinions’ shapes how we view life. Opinions can erode our faith in God because opinions dull our hearing… The Word of God is clear in how we are to be. Nevertheless, the devil’s machinations are designed to discredit the word through misinformation, blinding us through the opinions of others causing us to place inflated value on them more than the word of God.

Faith grows by hearing the word of God, when we hear the word of God, we act on what we believe these actions reflect the glory of God through us, the display, splendor and power of God according to 2 Cor 4: 7 states, that we possess this precious treasure [the divine light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.
Paul explains the valued treasure is this; we are hedged in (pressed) on every side [troubled and oppressed in every way], but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; We are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted [to stand alone]; we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed; Always carrying about in the body the liability and exposure to the same putting to death that the Lord Jesus suffered, so that the [ resurrection] life of Jesus also may be shown forth by and in our bodies. The success of our spiritual battle is incumbent on our faith! Our faith is dependent on hearing the word of God. Jesus paid the price; Our future in him is secure, now conduct your life by the faith you confess. Display the treasure.
