How do I get past myself

Romans 12:1-2 I APPEAL to you. Therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.
Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] What is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you.
Just as Paul strongly urges us to apply Romans 12:1-2 James warns us about our desires in 1: 12-15 Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by [what is] evil and He Himself tempts no one.
Nevertheless, every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions).
Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death.
Paul gives us the ability to get past ourselves and unholy desires James illuminates our desires and gives us stern warning that when we yield it is us making a choice to do so.
The sublets of temptation can eat away at our self-discipline and erode our diligence that dulls our ability to discern the avenues of deception in which temptation can come.
The renewing of the mind must be a tireless effort that we must take daily.
Finally, James tells us in verse sixteen of the first chapter do not be misled. These scriptures provide us with the simplicity of getting past our ego, pride and self-indulgence; they give us to power to be steadfast in our faith and testimony that we believe God. Getting past ourselves is the biggest challenge we face daily. Remember! We have been ordained to walk in dominion.
